North Street Burying Ground - Anderston, Glasgow
« on: Monday 11 March 13 00:41 GMT (UK) »
Just wondering if anyone knows if this place still exists and whether there are any searchable records kept anywhere?
Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andea.

According to the wee booklet on Glasgow Burial Grounds (containing what they have/don't have either  in the Library or at the Archives) ....

North Street, Anderston, was demolished around 1967.

The Archives hold Lair Holder records 1870 (Ref: DTC 6/319-4 & DTC 6/319-6)

The Library has Burial Registers 1874 - 1916.

They also might have Burial Registers 1830 - 1854 on microfilm. On the page in the booklet, someone has scribbled over the part listing mf (microfilm) and has written "In OPR Box 36644 V. 68".

I don't have a clue what this could mean, but if you were to contact the Mitchell, I'm sure someone may be able to explain.

Good Luck!

Anne  :)
