MILLS family from St Day and Gwennap
« on: Tuesday 02 April 13 11:33 BST (UK) »
I am hoping someone will be able to help me push back a little further with the Mills family from St Day. I have a Joseph Mills born 1857 in St Day which is in the parish of Gwennap. His mother is Susan - I am not sure of her maiden name and I believe his father to be William Mills.

Unfortunately I can't find anything about William so hope someone here can. Thanks for reading  ::)

Hi

Cornwall opc has a baptism of Joseph - parents William and Susan.

http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/search-database/more-info/?t=baptisms&id=1349351

You may be able to find out more about the family on that site.

In the 1851 census Susan is in St Day with 2 children - Thomas aged 12 and Elizabeth aged 8.

This suggests that the marriage on Cornwall opc between William Mills and Susan Richards on 27 March 1838 in Gwennap may be the one you need.

Marriage is on Familysearch, William Father WILLIAM and Susans THOMAS
(Cornwall OPC Marriage Record has her Fathers as Deceased)

This may fit in somewhere as cant find William in any Census as we dont know where/when he was born.
A Mary MILLS Married James RULE 1816 Camborne which may fit in somewhere later (FreeREG)

F/S has a Susan RICHARDS Christened 21 Jan 1821, Gwennap to THOMAS/BETSY

I can take this family tree back to 1667. Are  you a family member?

Not a family member but a friend and neighbour of someone who is. I was researching her family tree for her and we both live in St Day. She was Mills before marriage
