Hi Steve,

Glad to have helped. As to James and Ann and family, I just don't know what became of them. I have found next to nothing on them after the birth of the children. They seem to have vanished. In 1841 I did locate one possible. - A man I suspect may be Williams brother David is in Fowey married to Harriet MacPHERSON with a baby son William Macpherson COUCH. (David is a Grocer) By 1851 Harriet and William are alone. (I don't see a death and Harriet lists as married) I can follow both of those to Harriets second marriage many years later and Williams marriage to his death. Once we get to 1851 there are no Couch's listing Luxulyan as a place of birth. I thought it was interesting that the man I suspect to be William's brother also ended up in Fowey. Although I have the Luxulyan microfiche it is next to impossible to read and most pages look little more than blank sheets. Once they are digitized hopefully it will allow a bit more to be read.

Cheers Kris  :)

Well I don't know if I am blind since I checked yesterday and didn't find Luxulyan  :o

but the digitized records are certainly there today and so much better quality than my microfiche. Only looked at a few pages so far.  ;D The site has been upgraded today so perhaps that is why I didn't see them.  :-\

I have now gone through those Luxulyan deaths between 1820 and 1841 and nothing found. I didn't think there was anything there but some of the entries on the fiche were not very readable. Sadly no help.

Hi Kris, not to worry, you have helped me a great deal and I do thank you for that. I know that James was a miller at Wood Mill and I believe it is the one that is now a B&B near St Blazey. James and Ann are like the others of my family at around that time, as I go back, they just disappear behind the mist of time. Everyone who has contributed to the sites on which I have sought information have all given me information that I either didn't have or I had and needed confirmation. All in All, it has given me some target places to visit and if I can't find family, at least I can stand on the same streets that they have walked and I am looking forward to that. Thank you, Steve63.

Hi All, Please don't read into my last post that I have finished researching this line, I was just getting a bit sentimental over a trip coming up soon that will see my wife and I traveling to all of the towns in Cornwall and Devon where my ancestors came from, we will be visiting her family in Europe. I am still after any information on the Couch and now Jenkin family in Cornwall that are related and I do have other posts regarding my ancestors in Devon. Please feel free to add information at any time and know that you have my thanks. Regards, Steve63.

Hi Steve,

Aha, Finally - I located this entry which I thought looked very promising  ;D

HO107/241 Folio 7 page 9
Blaxton Mill
Tamerton Folliott
Devon

COUCH James 60 N(No not born in county) Miller
COUCH Anne 60 N
COUCH Agness 25 N
COUCH Ann 15 N
COUCH James 20 N
+ servant

and then I located the baptism for Ann which clinches it!

Anne COUCH baptised 18 May 1823 at St Blazey, parents James, a miller and Anne of of Woodmill Luxulion[sic]
