Parents names on marriage record, Jones & Morrice/Edwards/Hughes
« on: Saturday 04 May 13 17:29 BST (UK) »
Following my post here http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,645706.0.html I've found 3 possible marriage records en route from Penmaenmawr to Corwen, however with a name like Jones I know how unlikely the records are to be the correct ones, so wondered if someone with access to the parish records for Flintshire could look these 3 records up to see if there's any more information, such as occuation/father's names!

They are:
  • Thomas Jones and Margaret Morrice (possibly Morris/Maurice), m.16/1/1775 in Flint
  • Thomas Jones and Margaret Edwards, m. 5/6/1775 in Bagillt
  • Thomas Jones and Margaret Hughes, m. 27/7/1770 in Rhuddlan

Thank you very much for your help - I appreciate everyone's contributions so far!

Pre 1837 marriages only give the couples names, status, whether of the parish, date and witnesses, no occupations or parents names, but often a witness may be a close relative so sometimes you can get lucky.  :)
