Lambeth death 1942
« on: Saturday 27 July 13 09:47 BST (UK) »
I have a newspaper report dated 12 June 1942 for the death of Mary Andrews who was found in Princes Wharf, Lambeth. Her address was given as Clarindon Street, Pimlico and she had been missing since January

How can I find out where she was buried?

hello sancti

there must have been a post mortem and or an inquest. i'm not too sure how one would go about getting that info but if you intend to get to the bottom of the mystery I would suggest checking with Lambeth council for starters.

good luck

Thanks Tony

Lambeth archive suggested Westminster as that was where she lived. Trying to find an email contact for them.

Westminster archives have checked and can't find her there under her married name of Mary Andrews or maiden name of Ashcroft.

Coroners' records are normally closed to public access for 75 years.

Hi Sancti, I live in Ontario Canada and Mary Andrews (Ashcroft) was my great-grandmother. I was wondering if you ever found her burial site as we also have been searching for this information. I know this post was started over a year ago but I am visiting London this summer and would love to find her burial site if possible. Thanks :)
