Thomas Hitchcock

Morning all,
We are searching for the birth of Thomas Hitchcock in possibly in Dec qtr of 1847, parents were John Hitchcock and Ann Rixon, Thomas was born in Lyford Berkshire.  Thomas married Jane Pocock in Ealing in 1875.
Also searching for birth records of John Hitchcock his father, b abt 1927 Lyford area berkshire, in 1841 census he is living at West Hamney, he married Ann Rixon in 1846 and two other possible marriages are Hester Froude in 1854 and Hannah Stimpson in 1880, John died in 1914.

Thanks for that Alan, is there any indication on there who Thomas's first wife was before he married Maria Mills in 1825 and if there were any children of the marriage.

I believe Thomas's 1st wife was Susannah Jeffries as listed in my earlier reply.

The had these children baptised;
12-8-1787 Susanna Hitchcock d/o Thos & Susannah

14-9-1800 Ann Maria     "       d/o    "            "

Just looked at 1841 Census and Thomas born 1791 the son of Thomas born 1764 is with Maria and boychild John.  This has led me to believe that the marriage in 1825 between Maria Mills and Thomas Hitchcock is in fact a separate marriage to Thomas (seniors) son not to Thomas (senior). I am now trying to track a marriage to Thomas born 1791 to another wife possibly between 1811 and 1823, as on the marriage to Maria he is down as Widower.
The problem i had with Maria being the second wife of Thomas 1764 would have meant he was over 60 when John was born, I know this is possible but thought it unlikely.
Unfortunatly before the 1851 census Maria had died so no luck there.

Hi the Hannah Stimpson mentioned who married Thomas Hitchcock in 1880 was my great great grandmother born in Fyfield, Berkshire in 1824. She also died in 1914.
