13 Baronies of Ederynion?
« on: Wednesday 31 July 13 21:53 BST (UK) »
Out of interest does anyone know what each of the 13 baronies of Ederynion were?

I was reading that Owain Brogynton divided Ederynion into 13 different baronies, each ruled by a Baron. I've only heard of the Hughes of Gwerclas family who were Barons of Kymmer, but does anyone know what the other 12 were - do the families still exist today?

Also does anyone know how these Welsh barons compare to the modern Barons in the peerage?

Apologies for the historical/off-topic question but I'm curious now to find out!

This is a PhD thesis - 300+ pages of pdf which I believe should contain useful answers.
