hi wayne and welcome to rootschat .
I,ve just looked at the parish registers for gt baddow from 1790 to 1820 and the only births I can see for a hughes are these .
Thomas born 9 oct 1816 bpt 20 july 1817 dad james mum anna ? james occ farmer
George born 22 may 1818  bpt 5 july 1818  same parents as above
Rachel born 27 oct 1819 bpt 31 jan 1820  same parents as above
also looked to see if I could find a marriage for a james hughes  in gt baddow searched from 1790 and nothing shows so tried lt baddow - Danbury -springfield - galleywood and Chelmsford but can,t find one in fact no hughes show for birth or marriage .
where does your info come from please .
as he was a farmer it,s always possible he,s not part of a local family but bought somewhere in the local area , I even tried 1841 cen just in case he might still be alive but couldn,t find a match .
regards

by banns
witnesses
John James Deed
Sarah Ann Cotgrove

Burial in Gt. Baddow

James Hughes, born c1770 buried 8th January, 1825 aged 55yrs.
