Canadian mining
« on: Sunday 18 August 13 11:25 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find some information about 2 brothers who both went to work in canada doing mining work. They went early 1920's, one only stayed 2 years but the other stayed until 1952.
Is there anywhere I can find anything about them. I found when they went and when they came back, but would love to find a bit more about there time there. The one who only stayed 2 years sailed back from New York. They are Thomas and Isaac Douglas, both born In Aspatria, cumberland Thomas in 1884, Isaac in 1894.
Thank you
Carol

You want T-15013.

Isaac is page 542-541.  He arrived on the SS Regina, sailed 27 Apr 1923 - intended to travel by train (CPR) to Nanaimo, BC, where he had a brother (could be T Douglas? Or J Douglas?) at 123 Irwin Street. He had a wife at home (name only given as Mrs Isaac Douglas).  His current and future occupation was coal mining.
