That's what I don't understand.  Also I can only find birth indexes for 19 of the children

I am one of the great grand children and she definitely did have 26 children that is unquestionable, you may not be able to find all records but Guinness book of records found them and this is why thy had a place of the biggest family in the uk. Also her house was a place where soldiers slept during the war, this is why she had money. All her children worked there with her and this is why she was able to buy them houses.
