There is another Esther on 1881, bn Woodley, slightly older, but her dad is a Francis

In 1871 the Thomas and Ann of the 1881 above have Esther as per the 1881 but  she is recorded as a foundling born not known on the page.

I have just come across this web site.  These two people were my grandmother's parents.  Esther Mercy was not part of the Wetherall family, being a foundling and adopted by them, unusual for the time and there were stories that she may have been of Irish descent.  I have found out quite a lot about Eli and my grandmother's family
