As I suggested before, you could get all the marriages for John Wright in Bucks for £1.  At least it will save you fuel and time, and give dates and areas for you to research, when you visit the archives.  Or, for £5, you could order the transcribed records for Astwood from BucksFHS ;)

hi;  I plan on an archive search next week at mk library, was hoping for a quick fix in the meantime. you have found the people as I did but the only birth I could find was to Charles and Ann in 1797 follwed by his burial ten days later. this is critical because john wright 1797 is a rather crucial charector in my tree.

I was hoping I would find another john birth to Charles and Ann but have not so far!

hence my query. if it doesn't happen here its no biggie I'll pop in library but as a total addict and given how massive this error is, I am impatient to solve it.

I have the Astwood & Hardmead PRs on CD from Bucks FHS but they don't load well on my computer so I have printed most of the Wright names, so will check tonight.

From memory I recall that the John Wright baptised 1797 son of Charles & Ann (ne Basin?) married Ann Wildin(g) of Calverton at Astwood in 1818.  But I don't have a burial nor a second baptism. Another John Wright of Astwood married her sister Francis Wilding; again will check & confirm later

Got a moment to visit local history section of library. John was baptized on 19 march 1797 and buried on the 29th.

The records for 1798 are damaged and impossible to read on the microfiche so i cant find the birth of John who marries Ann Wilding. Apparently there is a chance the Bishops Transcripts will record the birth. Thats for another visit.

Assuming Ann did not become pregnant straight away, we are looking for a John Wright born in 1798 or at the earliest around Dec 1797.

Agreed John and we have discussed this before. However family search have the burial listed, and its on the microfichee original I read at mk library last night. John is listed as being baptized and buried on the 29th march. I can't explain it but its there.

So the John that marries Ann Wilding must be a separate listing probably in 1798 as per cencus. I can't find this birth as the record for this period is unreadable. Family search finds other John wrights but not born in astwood. so it could be simply that the relevant page in the records is lost forever but I hope we can somehow prove he is the son of Charles and Ann but born in the part  of 1798 that can't be read.
