Burial
« on: Friday 27 September 13 17:16 BST (UK) »
Good evening all,
I am looking for a burial of Benjamin(Inkerman) Bowman born abt 1867 and died 1937 in Swinton, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, I have looked at the Rotherham bereavement services of the council without any success, also had a quick look round in St Margarets at Swinton, but its like looking for a needle in a barn full of hay.

Thanks Pat.

I know you have the above info I myself like others here do not live anywhere near Rotherham and don't know which churches have a graveyard.
Have you not approached the council with what information you have, and see if they have the relevant burial info. (Municipal cemeteries, rather than parish church cemetery)

I have tried that approach Brian but again found no results, I know Swinton comes under the Rotherham borough, as far as I know St Margarets is the only burial place in Swinton.

Could Inkerman be buried in a family plot?
Wife/son/daughter, you get the idea.
[Why not ask at the local library for church information (burial grounds), our main library has indexed the baptism/marriage and burials for main church, no idea how up to date it is.]

Thanks Craig, your info has been most valuable, I have located the plot and St Margaret's churchyard, unfortunately, there is no headstone.
