Hi

Could I ask if you could find a baptism for a James Stott around 1775 in them.

What I know of James is he dies in 1850 when he says he was 75. He married in Ripon and lived most of his adult life in Masham so not a long way from Alne. I do not know who his parents were.

(I know Alne is on familysearch but I did not find him on there but there is always a possibility the records were incomplete on there)

Thank you

David

James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Hi David

Well there is good news and bad news
I couldn't see a baptism for a James Stott around 1775.  I searched 1770 to 1780.

There were Stotts around in Alne as I found a couple of burials that may fit in somewhere.

Mary Stott da of Thomas Stott of Tollerton, carpenter, a Roman Catholic, died Sept 19, buried 21 Sept 1787 aged 15 - dropsy
Thomas Stott, wheelwright of Tollerton died Jan 22, buried Jan 24 1806 aged 75 - old age

Hi Carol,

Could you do a check on 2 baptisms and a death please at Alne.

Robert Robinson born 28 May 1804, bapt 31 May 1804, parents Thomas and Ann Robinson.
William Robinson born 13 June 1807 bapt 23 Jun 1807, parents Thomas and Ann Robinson.
I would like you the check the wording for the parents I'm hoping for a bit extra like occupation, I did for 3 earlier ones but maybe the vicar changed and it was entered differently.

Also they death of a son for them, James was born on the 18th Sept 1796, bapt on the 19th Sept 1796, they had twins in July 1801 calling one James, so the first son James died between Sept 1796 and July 1801.

Many thanks Lee

Hi Lee

I'm afraid you are a day too late.  I originally thought the film was due back on the 15th Feb, but I had a email from the LDS last week saying it was due back on the 5th (tomorrow)
I've been to the LDS centre this morning to finish off the film.

Sorry :'(
