(www) or Where Went the Wilsons (of Chirton )
« on: Friday 27 December 13 13:12 GMT (UK) »
In 1842 Joseph Wilson b.1812 in Crosthwaite, Cumberland, a Marina/Fisherman married (our) Lavinia Thomasine b. 1823 in Sunderland. By 1843 they had moved up to Spittal ( Nr Berwick ) where they had their first three children:

Joseph b. 1843            Thomasin b. 1847            James b. 1850     All three at Spittal

However, we find that by 1852 Joseph had changed his work and place of abode, and was now a 'Painter' living in Coble Dean Chirton. On the 1861 Census, (Although we do not find  firstborn Joseph - he would of course be 18 yrs and maybe at work ?) The other two are still showing and so are ;
               Henry George age 9yrs           also        Thomas age 6yrs

By 1871, only children still at home are Henry George, now a Blacksmith and Thomas at School
              the family's address now : Brunswick Cottage Chirton

1881, Still at Brunswick cottage only Henry now 29, still unmarried working now as a 'Shipsmith'

( All this time Father has been busy painting away  and having finished the Tyne bridge, what next)

So what I am looking for are what happened to Joseph & Lavinia's children, grand children and even great grand children - Please.

Only possible maybe, is that I found a Thomas living at Coach Road Bedlington, age correct, working as a coal miner, who had married a Mary.E in 1876 and they had two sons : Samuel 5yrs and Joseph 3yrs; (but I have no cross reference).

Fantastic New Year ( or 'First Footing') to ALL

Whoopee

It must be Christmas after all.  Thanks to you two Santa's. And you have gone for the hardest first, I have the greatest problems to find where the Ladies went always. I do not live in UK and therefore find it difficult to get far (am not talking about the Ladies!!), however since I started with Rootschat, I was able to find all my wife's Huguenot relatives, and get well into mine Big Thank you.

Best

John

p.s. Is there any chance please to check out the Thomas Marriage at Bedlington to see if it might be him please ?
