An interesting snippet about  Denmark in Western Australia where John Mazzoletti Junr resided .....there is the most beautiful beach named Mazzoletti beach there.

I wonder if this is the birth of Alice?

Father = UNKNOWN & Mother = Sarah FRANCE

I'm really unsure that the above is the birth of Alice MAZZOLETTI. I've found more births to a Sarah FRANCE/FRANCIS with father unknown in the same area and including a couple after the marriage of Giovanni and Sarah.

However, I've found the following marriage for Alice....

Alice MAZZOLETTI born ALMA married Francis HAYES in 1885.
Ref = 6589

Wow!!! Thank you all so much for all the information - what an amazing forum. I am very grateful. 
My Mazzoletti family are those in Victoria, maybe those in Western Australia are also related...I will look into that at a later date.
 
Since my original post, I have found Sarah's mother's (Christiana Need's) death certificate - it states Sarah was only 7 years old when her mother died (1864) - Christiana's  remains were found  "bleached and scattered about on the ground" - an inquest into her death was held on 14th April 1864.
Sarah's  father was William Francis (a shepherd) and according to Christiana's death certificate, Sarah had a brother John who was dec.

Looking through the information you have contributed above and what I have, I calculate that *Alice* (who is my Grt Grt Grandmother) was born 8 years before John and Sarah were married. That would make John 17 years of age and Sarah only 11 or 12 at the time of *Alice's* birth.

I also have just found John's death certificate. The child listed as being born after Alice is John and he was born in 1877 a year after the couple married and about 8 or 9 years after *Alice* was born.

Not that it is impossible but I am beginning to doubt that John and Sarah are in fact *Alice's* parents.

I guess I may never know...

Dee, I  purchased a copy of this birth certificate and am pretty sure that this is my *Alice*!! 

Thank you so much for helping to solve the puzzle. The only downside is that we have lost the Italian heritage we were proud of
