Bit of a long shot for 1901 in Norwich

Christopher Scotten    59 - insurance agent b Norwich
Elizh Scotten    55 - b Norwich
Edith L Scotten    19 - daughter b Norwich
Jane E Badders    27 - daughter, married b Norwich
Irene G Badders    1 - b Gt Yarmouth
Marjorie J Badders    6 Months - b Gt Yarmouth

The image for the last three looks like their surname is Barnes. The children say "sdau" for relationship, which Ancestry has taken as step daughter.  However I think Jane E [Emma Jane?] is the step daughter. Christopher Scotten married an Elizabeth Coldham in Mutford district Q3 1881. Irene G would fit Garnham & Emma's older child on 1911 - again if her first names are reversed!

Hi
I am the great grand daughter of Garnham senior and Mabel. He did marry Emma Jane and think naughtily left her. Garnham junior married Ivy Pendle. He had two children with Mabel in the twenties. He married Mabel after Emma Jane died.
Would love to hear more about your connection.
Michelle

I am currently researching the family of Garnham and I have:

William Garnham (c.1602-1669) m.1629 Mary, dau. of Rev. Petley Wyborne, Rector of Elmstone. William Garnham was of Farnborough and/or Catmore, both in Berkshire and was Serjeant of the Countinghouse to his Majesty (Charles II). They had 2 sons and 5 daughters, one of whom was Frances who married Bernard Edwards and they had a son called Garnham Edwards, who had a son called Garnham Edwards, who had a son called Garnham Edwards.

Now I think that Frances' sister Elizabeth married Robert Barnes and had Joseph and Mary (both living 1710 according to the will of Petley Garnham, brother to both Frances and Elizabeth).

It is therefore not inconceivable that your Garnham Edwards Barnes derives from these familes.

HTH,

Hi John
I have been looking at my family tree again and saw this message again. Which sibling of Garnham are you descended from?
Thanks
