BumbleB, none of the above, I've lately been looking at East & West Ardsley (Woodkirk), Morley and Farnley (Nr Leeds).  I will check out the existence of churches in those parishes for the period I'm looking for, thanks for the tip.  Will also check out WYAS site.

Morley - nothing pre-1830
East Ardsley - St Michael - 1662
Farnley - St Michael - 1791
Woodkirk - 1652

All on Ancestry.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
He/she who never made a mistake, never made anything.
Archbell - anywhere, any date
Kendall - WRY
Milner - WRY
Appleyard - WRY

Just posting this link to a new message (thank you BumbleB) about additional Yorkshire records on FindMyPast so that people previously interested in the topic may get a reminder

James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.
