Completed:Can't find William and Frances Jane Morcomb in the 1901 census
« on: Wednesday 26 February 14 16:37 GMT (UK) »
28th March 1899 William Morcomb age 37 marries Frances Jane Stacey age 37 who was a widow. (Her father was Henry David Rule and William's father George Morcomb) .At the time of the marriage George's residence was in Trelowarren Street, Camborne,Cornwall and Frances was Tuckingmill Camborne ,Cornwall.
I have looked high and low and can't find either of them them in 1901.
Edited: Should read that William's residence was Trelowarren Street not George.

Can you clarify if his name was William or George as you've called him both.

Not sure about that one Kay, as there is a Frances A Sandercombe aged 19 living with her family, including mother Mary in 1881 - Trethurgey, St Austell. Her father was Robert Sandercombe, not Henry Rule.

Thanks for the replies.
I have found a F J Morcom who is a 49 year old widow born Illogan, in the 1911 census. She is with her son G Morcom and living in Camborne. The age isn't correct but I wonder if it is her. Now to try and find her in 1901 and G Morcom.
Because it was a second marriage for William and Frances,I wonder if she is living with a step son.

The only death I can find between 1899 and 1911 is this and he is too old.

MORCOMB, William T
St. Columb  Cornwall
1901   Oct-Nov-Dec
Age at death:73
Volume no: 5C Page no: 61

What was William's occupation on his marriage certificate?

William Morcomb was a Mill Fitter and his father George was a tin miner. Frances Janes Stacey was a widow and her father Henry David Rule was a miner.
William Percy Cock and Lavinia Ann Ellis were witnesses.

Found that Frances in 1901 - they are at the same address as she is in 1911 - looks as if it could be a transcription error. The name isn't very clear but could be Morcom

Thank-you so much for that. :) I looked at other spellings for Morcomb but didn't think of Moran.
It must be her.
After I read your post I had a look at it on FindMyPast and it could be either Morcam of Moran.
In 1891 Frances J was living was living with her mother Elizabeth in Centenary Street.
Frances Jane's first marriage didn't last for long because on FindMyPast she married John Stacy in June qtr 1898 and then she married a 2nd time in March 1899. She didn't hang around!
