Please can SKS throw any more light onto these families please?
All I have is the following:
Father John Courtney a labourer in 1882
Wife possibly a Jane Morrison or Maggie (Alexander)
Son Francis/Frank Courtney/McCourtney
born circa 1849 to 1856
Marriage 1 ...............
Have no idea to who but before 1882
In 1882 he married as a widow:
Jane Alexander
b.c. 1852
Father William Alexander - a farmer in 1882
Her address at the time was Marlborough Park, Belfast
(family rumour has it that she was housekeeper to an MP in Ballemena???
Francis' address was 15 Charlotte Place, Belfast
There was a Maggie Alexander as witness
They married in the Parish of Belfast in the Diocese of Connor - Church of Ireland (St Annes?) on 29 Dec 1882.
Francis is supposed to have been a Ship's Captain but I have only found him as a gaswork labourer.
Any info would be great ie.
Francis' first wife and their marriage
John's marriage and spouse
Williams marriage and wife
etc etc
any census info. etc.,
