Thanks also your tips on Loftus Family - the Kilkenny link may be one to pursue as one of the Steele maternal lines - daughters of Lydia Margaret Steele married someone from Kilkenny. On the other hand one daughter ended up in Carlow so maybe the Kyle near the border will bear looking at more closely. Really grasping I know but it is quite a challenge to trace the Steele's. Some of the current researchers are sure we are related to the Steele's of Rathbride due to a similar family crest on an ancestral ring which turned up in Grenada.
