I do not have any records of ships England to New Zealand, Sorry.  I did have a look in 1901 census and no luck either.

Hi Mallow,

I was fascinated by this data quoted below, posted by DeanNH on 23 June. Can you or DeanNH provide a source citation and date for any of the information? The first reference at least sounds as though it's from a NZ source, and it might help us narrow his departure date. It certainly suggests that he sailed from Wellington.

George Allsopp age 26 occup Butcher last perm. res Wellington New Zealand dest. San Fran.?  Age fits and place he is going and coming from and date of arrival but could he be going by his middle name?

Date of arrival Nov 6 1906 Aukland to San Francisco ship Sierra

I'll see if I can find the Sierra departing Auckland in 1906 for you.

Regarding George ALLSOPP's arrival in NZ, email Petone Settlers Museum via their website and ask them to check their databases. Otherwise see my posts on researching descendants in NZ on the New Zealand page. http://www.huttcity.info/council/services/recreation/settlers/

Hi Riley,

The ship data came from the ancestry site under San Francisco Passenger Lists.  A copy of the the original Manifest can be viewed there, which is where I transcribed the info as ancestry had South Africia for the last perm. resid which was incorrect.

Departed Aukland Oct 19, 1906

Hi mallow,

I’m sorry to say that there is no extant record of ship departures from Auckland in 1906 held by Archives NZ Wellington office, so I’m unable to check the passenger list of the Sierra.

I looked for ALLSOPP's in the 1900, 1902 & 1905/06 Wellington Electoral Rolls, but no luck; I wonder if he was already in Auckland by 1900?

Thanks Riley, George was moving around a lot so could have been in Auckland during the the time span 1900-1906 when he left for America. DeannH had kindly picked him up for me on  the passenger list as he arrived in San Francisco in 1906 :)

Hi Riley, I seem to be replying to you on two different sites my query on this one is about Auckland Census or Electroal  rolls  maybe back as far as 1898 to 1906 when he departed for America any trace?
