Edward Tudor
« on: Saturday 03 May 14 12:28 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Family search shows me a birth of a EDWARD TUDOR 22 Nov 1856 Flintshire.
Also a baptism of 03 Jan 1857, Broughton, Flintshire, Wales.
Theses are in the Wales, Flintshire, Parish Registers, 1538-1912.

Anyone know if I can see these on line? As I need to find his parents names
to confirm if this is the correct EDWARD TUDOR.  He went on to serve in the
1st Cheshire Regiment as a Colour Sergeant. Edward died in the third quarter
1897 at Chester Castle under rather strange circumstances.

Thanks
bswinno.

Hi

Was it definitely 1857?   The actual record has him christened on 3 January 1858 (if its the same Edward), at Broughton, born 22 November 1856, son of Samuel Tudor (a labourer) and Maria.

If it was a transcription it could be transcribers error as he is the last entry on an October to December 1857 page that tips into January 1858 for Edward's entry

I read it as born Nov 22 (no year) so assume November prior to christening in Jan 1858.
Mothers maiden name Woodcock

1851 census shows Samuel and Maria, Tudor name transcribed as Lucha.
Thy are living in Hope Broughton with Maria's parents James and Mary Woodcock.
Got to be the right.
thanks

Thanks Wilcoxon for the information.
I am able to now look at some of the names you supplied for
further details.
The report on his death where did that come from?
I know that he died 3 Q of 1897 at Chester.

His Army records show that he was in hospital at the end of July
until early Aug that year. But nothing shown as died on his record.
Rumour has it that it was at Chester Castle at a retirement party.
Fell and broke his neck. But not proven yet.

Thanks
bswinno.
