A bit about Mountrath here !

The Griffiths Valuation was taken int he late 1850's early 1860's so presuming that Timothy was stlll alive then there is a good chance that he is on it.

The name Timothy Fitzpatrick appears on it three times and each of these areas are in the vicinity of Mountrath !

The only problem is that I cannot tell which one is William's father

He definately was from Mountrath, and there are baptism records available. But for the moment, I have no idea which record is his.

He died in Cashel in 1933, so an obituary may hold some clues

The Irish don't really do obits unless they were from a high ranking family.

Found his baptism record

William Fitzpatrick baptised 1st September 1845 in Mountrath County Laois to Timothy Fitzpatrick and Catherine Power

He had siblings

Thomas born 1840
Mary born 1838
Judith born 1842

Cannot find marriage for Timothy and Catherine, despite records going back to 1827
