I cannot find a death or remarriage for Fanny Gunbar Wood Hawkey at any time in New South Wales.

This could mean:  her death was never registered ;   she lived beyond 1983 ( born 1882, possible but unlikely ),  she died or remarried interstate ,   or she died and remarried but the registration details have been mis-indexed somehow.

Here is a death from 1958:
5675/1958    HAWKEY    FAY JOY    FRANK ERNEST    DOROTHY ADA    MURWILLUMBAH

Just another thought.  Just wondering about the Rawson / Spinks marriage.  It took place in Narromine which is in the general area {Narromine, Trangie, Dubbo and Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon} where quite a few of my ancestors either originated from or lived for a while.  Do you think that marriage could be a feasible one?  I just wish it didn't take so long to get transcriptions in NSW. Love the QLD system where you can download them immediately after purchase. Saves a lot of angst waiting lol!

I think I'm getting more confused as more information comes to light.  I guess I'll just have to be patient and start sifting through all this info and hope that the truth finally appears.

Thanks so much everyone, please keep the info coming if you can.

The Queensland record reveal the death there of two of Frank E Hawkey's siblings,  children of Thomas J Hawkey and Frances Emma Sheppard Hawkey:   Edith Hawkey d. 1878 ( apparently quite young ),  and John Joseph Hawkey d. 1959 ( quite old ).

Nothing there about the possible death of Fanny Hawkey,   the possible remarriage of Frank E Hawkey to Nora,  or any possible children for Frank and Nora Hawkey (up to 1914).

Catherine Rawson is the Mrs Gunning
Eliza Rawson is the Mrs Jobson

I've got no idea who the RACE family is
I've got no idea who the LEE family is
I will now assume that Nora is the Mrs Hawkey

See my reply #1 for the thoughts on the Mr and Mrs RACE please.
(It is only a speculation).

There was a Hawkey-Krinks marriage in NSW,  in 1906,   which was before your Rawson-Spinks marriage in 1907.

Because of the dates,  the idea that she married Mr Spinks,  and then ( as Krinks ) married Hawkey,  does not work.

The purported death of Frank E Hawkey,  of Burwood,  on 28 Feb 1933,   would be consistent with the inquest on 3 March  and also the Funeral announcement in the Herald on 2 March.

the birth of Grace was registered at Bathurst

29505/1900  RAWSON  Grace
Mother  Norah
At BATHURST

I am struck on looking at the index by the high number of births to RAWSON women wth no father listed in that immediate area ???

Grace seems to have had a difficult time in her marriage if I have the correct woman. Did she marry Stephen MITCHELL?

One of her daughters has Nora's name,  I think.

There was a Major Hawkey, who also lived at Burwood NSW.   The engagement of his son Kenneth,  to the daughter of the Mayor of Concord,   was announced on 24 June 1933.   This is presumably not the Frank Hawkey of Burwood who died on 28 Feb 1933,    otherwise it would have said "  to Kenneth,  the son of the late Major Hawkey of Burwood, and Mrs Hawkey",    and... it doesn't.

A whole bunch of people were drowned in creeks, dams, and rivers around the first week of March 1933.   There doesn't seem to have been any floods.   It must have been very hot.   Curiously,  the drowning of Frank Hawkey doesn't seem to have been mentioned in the papers at all.   Just a funeral announcement.
