I think there were many maybe errors in records past, the number of passengers etc, also I have had a few that WANT to be younger..maybe he set off to new land looking to marry or whatnot :)

You can only search every avenue..or in this case continent (only have access to UK records)

Wonder why though when Florian Snr died he left all to his first dau, and not the son?  Ok Ann Mary 2nd dau, was a nun.  Did Augustine die before he died? Maybe Florian was unhappy his son left, Maybe he favored, with care she gave him his first daughter ???

Good luck
Cas

When you say the will was on the net, do you mean the actual will or the probate record? I wasn't aware that wills that late were actually on line. If it is the probate records it only shows the executors, ie the people who distributed the estate and money as laid down in the will, it doesn't show all the beneficiaries.

Hello, welcome to Rootschat.

In case you don't have it:

Florian Sigwarth of Fairlight House, Kilburn Square Middlesex died 26th February 1919 at Nazareth House, Isleworth. Probate was granted to Hyacinthe Maria Moriarty, spinster. He left £2663. 10s. 10d.

My input was regarding your post, not that many wills with my lot..thanks for the pointer.

It is the Florian Snr as same address as last census. That names his second child.  Also a wonder WHY are they going by mothers maiden name?

Hyacinthe appears in quite a few electoral registers, the last being 1964:
Hyacinthe M Moriarty, 45 Iveagh House, Loughborough Road, Lambeth. She seems to be living alone.

She died the following year

Hyacinthe Moriarty
Sep 1965
Age at Death:   86
Lambeth  Greater London
Volume:   5c  Page:   159

It seems the children of this family never married, or had children...Why take your mothers maiden name as your own if you was born Sigwarth..interesting

well, i heared one reason that sounds logical to me: its short before the first world war and Sigwarth sounds as a german name. i could imagine, that you could have trouble with such a name in London at that time.. mabye thats a reason why...

Possibly because of the war, my German great grandparents anglicised their names around that time.   Or it could be that there was an inheritance from her mother's side but the stipulation was that she had to take the name Moriarty. I've also had this happen in my tree, although in that case they just attached it to their surname.
