Great find Daisy.

Hi
I am having the same problem I have found Fanny Crawford married in 1883 but I can not find George H.S. Scatcherd, I found his first marriage his Harriet. and on his marriage to Ethel he is down as a widower.
At first when I saw Fanny and G.H.S I thought it can't be, but when I saw he was a boot maker then the penny dropped and I knew it was the same person :o
G.H.S Scatcherd is my 2x Great Grandfather, from his marriage to Ethel in 1908. My great grandfather was John Scott, and his son Albert Scott was my grandfather

Hi I was fascinated by your message. GHScatcherd was also my gt grandfather. He and Fanny committed bigamy I think. Harriet also committed bigamy. I have a wedding group photo on ancestry of some of the Scatcherd family. I also found a photo of George Henry when he was admitted to a reform school when young. So you would be Henry Leo's half sister so it must make us cousins some where along the way. I think George Henry was a bit of a baddy. I believe he met Harriets father in Armley prison in Leeds which is how he met Harriet. They did have children.
Regards Chris.

Hi
I have searched high and low for a marriage for fanny and still nothing, trying different names as well. Thinking he might have dropped a name if he was all ready married, but so far no luck.
I ordered the marriage certificate for GHHS and Ethel as that's my line of the tree and he is down as a window in 1908, I believe Fanny died in 1905 ?
I have also ordered GHSS birth and death certificates to see if those have any extra information on.
It's defiantly been a interesting journey. There was a question over my Great grandfathers brother a he was known as Albert Dixon, not Scott. (son of GHSS) well it turns out that GHSS died in 1911 and he was not born till 1916, ordered his birth certificate and there is no father just Ethel's name.
I have some photo's on Ancestry of my side, my grandfather and great grandfather but nothing more. Saw the photo of GHSS at the age of 13 when he went reform school .
Have to admit the tree is getting complicated with 3 marriages and children every where lol  :P ;D

I have spent years on this lot. My grandfather Henry Leo Scott Scatherd dropped the Scatcherd and just used Scott, my Mum was called Muriel Scott. I have a lot of the certificates. Fanny Crawford was Henry Leo's Mother , and her sister Annie Elizabeth Crawford was  my grandmothers Emma Thompson mother so Henry Leo and Emma were first cousins which caused a lot of trouble in the family.
