McKenna's in Liverpool via Greenock, Belfast & Monaghan
« on: Friday 08 August 14 02:08 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to trace the family of my grandfather's uncle, James McKenna (born c. 1859 in either Co. Monaghan or Belfast). James married Elizabeth McAlindon in Greenock around 1889/90. They moved to Liverpool shortly after (or perhaps before, returning to Greenock to get married). In the 1901 census they are recorded with six children at Elias Street, Everton: Nellie (1890), James (1892), Henry (1893), William (1895), Thomas (1898) & John (1901). Thereafter we can't find any definitive records for them.
Ferrie(& Ferry), McLaughlin (Donegal)
McKenna, Darragh/Darroch (Monaghan & Greenock)
O'Brien, Nolan, Eustace (all Wexford)
O'Sullivan (South Kerry)

In case you haven't got them you can find baptisms for some of the children on Liverpool Roman Catholic Baptisms website.

looking at Liverpoolhistoryprojects / baptisms - they moved to Elias Street around 1893 and the baptisms after that are at St Anthony - here is a map for Elias Street and the church of St Anthony is at the bottom of the next street - this area is / was known as Scottie Road ( Scotland Road ) ...it has it`s own website
http://www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co.uk/liverpoolaz/km79.htm
Scottie Press - it wouldn`t do any harm to contact them and see if they have any archives of the McKenna family

I can't see them for some reason. Might be poorly transcribed.
