Trying to trackdown birth certificate for a Fanny WILDGOOSE b.1842 Callow, DBY
I have a baptism recorded for 21 Aug 1842 Kirk Ireton but can't find any details on Free BMD.

Can anyone help?

Maybe the birth wasn't registered -although registration was introduced Sept 1837 fines for non registering were not enforced until many years later  -so often people just baptised their children and didn't register them

I saw the Bakewell entry but it is later than the baptism and she was born in Callow which is the Ashborne district.

Just a thought, there is a birth registered on freebmd q/e Sep 1842 Ashbourne District vol 19 page 320 but the name is Mary Wildgoose. Could it have been written down incorrectly at the time, the original page looks like Mary but it's a possibility.

That sounds a possibility.  If I order the bc then it may not be correct but because the WILDGOOSE family is my direct line then whoever it is will probably be my cousin ;D

Fanny W was baptized on 21 Aug 1842 at Kirk Ireton so that fits with the Sep Qtr registration.  Also Callow is in the Ashbourne registration district... :o
