Kilbehenny Church Records (early 19th century)
« on: Tuesday 12 August 14 19:54 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking to find the names of the parents of a Jeremiah Casey born in Kilbehenny area around 1807. He died in 1880 age 73. I have checked the usual online records (Roots Ireland (etc)) and can find nothing - would anyone know of a local Kilbehenny area historian who may be able to find his baptism record for me?

The Irish Times site shows the Kilbehenny parish records starting in 1824 for baptisms so there may not be a record.

On a separate note, attached is the newspaper obituary of my Great Great Grandfather Thomas O'Donnell who died in 1935 in Kilbehenny, Limerick. I have physically searched both graveyards (old & new) and cannot find a headstone for him, cant find anyone with cemetery records for that time either. So I can at least narrow down what cemetery he is in - does anyone know if the new graveyard for Kilbehenny was open in 1935 or is it likely that he was buried in the old graveyard?

Have you tried the county council to see if they have burial records? also there may be a grave but no headstone.

Is the new cemetery adjoining the church too?  (The clip says adjoining)
