Thanks for all you efforts Boo.  It looks as if you have been down the same road with your family research.  It's very frustrating but sometimes you have to hang on to what you've got and go with it until you can prove otherwise.  I think your theory that the name has been wrongly transcribed is the best we can come up with. On my great grandmother's marriage certificate it says her name is Ellen when in fact it was Ann so I know it can happen. Hey ho if it was too easy we would soon get bored. Thanks again.
