Thomas Quinn - Borrisokane

Hi there,

I am trying to trace my family tree but can't find much on Thomas Quinn (my grandfather). I don't know his DOB or where he was born.  I have a date 1888 for year of birth but that is just a rumour in my family and I am not sure if it is true.  I have searched and cannot find anything online. 

He married Mary-Ellen White from Scariff, Co.Clare - I am also stumped on her DOB too, although I have managed to trace her father and mother (Donat and Winifred White)

If anyone has any information, however small, please contact me!

Before he married Mary-Ellen (my grandmother) he was widowed and had a son, my mum's step brother.  We do not know of his whereabouts and wonder whether he is still living.  We believe he moved to the UK at some point.

There is a policy of no names of living or possibly living people on RootsChat, so if your not sure your Mums step brother is alive or not you should remove his name.
You need to come forward to go back.
First thing to find is your grandparents marriage cert, do you know where and the year they married or close to the year?
This will give you his Father's name and where he was living at the time.
It should be possible to find the references for it on FamilySearch

Mary-Ellen was my grandmother, and her sister was Margaret (Carolan)

I am not sure who was eldest, sorry...
