There is a 1914 Scarriff marriage of John NUGENT to Bridget LOUGHNANE Q2 V4 P204 which looks like it would help

There are two John NUGENT deaths in the 1930s
Scarriff 1934 aged 68 Q1 V4 P221 and Scarriff 1936 aged 50 Q4 V4 P221
If you had an idea about his age deciding which he is could help!

Not sure of death.
His father maybe a Edmond Nugent..
Thanks for your assistance.

The marriage certificate would show the father's name and help confirm if Edmond is correct

Probable 1911 census record for the family at house 1 in Baurroe and Feakle Town (Ayle, Clare)
and
1901 census record
implying that John was born c1895
Possible birth record

This would also imply that he was aged approx. 40 in the 1930s

Thanks for all that info it has helped me sort out which John Nugent was ours.
He was born in 1885 and died in 1936 at the age of 50, he is noted as having the middle name of Alphonsus. I'm now interested in finding the correct Edmond Nugent! As there are a few with children of the same names I'm searching for. Any clues?

Cheers,

Fran

there is a marriage in 1883 Scarriff of a Edmond NUGENT Q1 V4 P302
There are three Margaret's as posssible matches so obtaining the cert and a birth cert for confirmation would be required

Did you actually get John Nugent's marriage certificate to confirm that his father was Edmond?

The marriage certificate would show the father's name and help confirm if Edmond is correct
Probable 1911 census record for the family at house 1 in Baurroe and Feakle Town (Ayle, Clare)
and
1901 census record
implying that John was born c1895
Possible birth record
This would also imply that he was aged approx. 40 in the 1930s

then...
Edward Nugent, Bauroe, age 67, died 24 Dec.1928
wife Margaret Nugent, age 53, died 1 Sept.1913
son John (Jacko) Nugent, age 71, died 11 Oct.1964
John's wife  Mary Ann, age 75, died 24 Apr.1969
three children of John & Mary Ann also listed-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello,
I'm awaiting that marriage certificate, as I'm in Australia it will take up to three weeks at least it has in the past! From family still in Scarriff, I have been told that Edmond Nugent was their GGGGrandfather who married a Margaret? The  1901 census has two such families, with the head as Edmond and wife as Margaret so....

Cheers,

Fran
