His grave number is RO or RD 1662 -( can't make out the O or D)

He was buried 26.4.1926 - address was 147a Mill Rd

Having looked at the plan I think it must be RD.

I've used Ford Cemetery website in the past and found it helpful, but today notice it is no longer on-line, indeed the message is that that fiche for Ford, Yew and Ainsdale were up for sale.

Don't know how long that has been the case so not aware if it still applies, but most definitely get nowhere on the site I used.

That's OK Carole, I wondered as you had the grave reference.  I'm not looking for anyone but thought it could be helpful to Markeve and others researching in the same area

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the reply, my husband tried the site and was directed to the ancestry site where he found the same as you. What made it interesting was that there were 2 more burials that day from the same house and another 2 day's later, looks like an epidemic of some sort.

Thanks again.

My maternal grandfather died at that address in 1935.  It was the infirmary which I think was once the Mill Rd Workhouse

hello Carole,
Sorry for not getting back sooner to you.  Have only just seen your message.  Thanks very much for that info, answered the puzzle for me, could not come up with, "why is he living at a different address, with four people all with different surnames ?."   Now I know the reason, going to send off for his death cert now.  Would you know when the workhouse closed by any chance.

Thanks again for your help.     Your not a bad lass don,t know why they call you.   :) :) :)
