Frederick Bernard Pearce
« on: Thursday 13 November 14 21:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

I am helping my friend with his tree. His grandfather was Frederick Bernard Pearce and was born 15/4/1916 (mothers maiden name Saunders) and died in 1980. According to his family his parents were Frederick and Gwyneth (Queenie). They were alive at Frederick Bernards sons wedding in 1964. The family lived around Widmer End i am told.

I can only find one Possibility for Fred and Queenies marriage but her name is different. Is there anywhere to find a baptism for Frederick in 1916, to confirm a parent or can anyone see anything i can't? He will be getting certificates but was trying to gather info without at the moment.

Thanks

David

There are quite a few Pearce/Saunders births in Wycombe - are these all Frederick's siblings?

Could it be Queenie's second marriage?

There are quite a few possible death for his Father, and for either Queenie, or Gwyneth as a second or third name.

If we pick the most obvious marriage:

Marriages Sep 1914
Frederick J Pearce   Sylvia A G Saunders    Amersham

that G could be Gwyneth.  Cannot see a birth for her, but this would be her death - too late?

Sylvia Annie G Pearce  Birth Date:    24 Jan 1897   Died  Aug 1985
Registration district:    Wycombe

Hi if that marriage/death is correct for Sylvia, then her birth looks to be:-

SILVER Annie G Saunders March qtr 1897 Amersham 3a 696

All the information you have found was what I thought best fit. I'm not sure how many siblings but there were quite a few registrations I found. I didn't want to continue with these choices until I had something more solid but seems there are no others.

I would expect to find silver (Sylvia) Annie G(wyneth) aka queenie Saunders in 1911 and 1901 census living with parents whom I am now told are Charles and Ellen but I couldn't see them on the 1901 (I know we can't do a 1911 search request here)

Also I have found a Frederick of the right sort of age (1893 birth) but living with grandparents (Lacey family) but have nothing concrete for this either.

I suppose a 1916 baptism for this area wouldn't be online?

Gwendoline has a different birth reference: Wycombe, Sep 1897.

Who said the parents were Charles and Ellen?
