David's first wife Jane Sydney Catherine Ne Jones died in 1878. Catherine is her daughter.

The problem is not the baptism, Rosie (see earlier replies). It's the registration/mother's maiden name.

I am wondering if Jane was actually Jane Jones and the birth that Andycand found for Meredith Jones in the right place and the right time was him.

There are quite a few Jane Jones, b. Llanbeblig on the 1871, that might fit but which one if any.
 I don't see any parent's names that fit with any of the later children, either. Think the birth cert of Malltwen might be the only way

added - not sure if it's any help but she's down as born Waenfawr* in the 1901.  *it's to the south of Llanrug but in Llanbeblig parish.

I realise that but was hoping it may have had a birth date on the baptism and hadn't noticed that it had already been posted.  I must confess I wasn't giving it my full attention as my 4 legged friend was trying to get me to play

From his sister's BCert, it appears Meredeth's mother was formally a Jane WILLIAMS.

There is a marriage registered in Anglesey Q3 1880, but I'm a bit surprised at the Reg District. I would have thought a marriage would have been reg in Caernarvon.
(But Jane may have been 5-6 months pregnant, so to avoid a bit of scandal ..... )

You can exclude the Anglesey Q3 1880 marriage - it was between David Davies, bachelor, 22, joiner of Castell, Llandrygarn, son of John Davies, painter and Jane Williams, 21, of Glanrafon, Llandrygarn, dau. of David Jones(?), farmer. They married 3 Sep 1880 at Dinas Chapel, Llangefni.

I do start to wonder if they were ever formally married!
Now I have a "maiden" name,don't think I'll pay £9.25 a time to find out.
