Thanks Alan, and to all the other people who have responded. This fills in a few more gaps.

Thank you

Jeanette.

 - although it seems you need to be a member to search, perhaps you could contact them directly and see if it's possible to search on your behalf?  If that was George's home area/where his family was from, they might have run an article on his wedding even if it took place elsewhere.

In case you haven't seen it, they were in New Mexico with the Air Force by 1947:

Although California seems the most likely choice for the actual ceremony.

Thanks Jorose.
We were aware of the Trove article and another published the previous year announcing the engagement. I have accessed the Sacramento site and was willing to get a library card but as I would have to present myself in person, (I'm a Pacific Ocean away), I haven't gone through with it. I will endeavour to email them and see if someone might have a look for me as you suggested.

I don't know if this thread is still active...

Ruth died some years back, lived out here days in Inverell, NSW. She lived with my grandparents as her sister Norma is my grandmother.
I could ask if you are still after info.

Thanks for your interest. It is about 5 years since the enquirer last made contact with me. If she ever comes back, I will pass on your information.

WESQ,

I have that Ruth died 22 Jan 2013 in Inverell, NSW.

I have her siblings as: Thelma, Joyce, Wilfred, Arthur "Jack", Colin, and Keith "Cookie". I don't have a sister of Ruth's named Norma. Am I missing others?
Do I have the siblings correct?

Thank you!

Norma was one of 12 children, including Ruth.
She married George after arriving back in California. When she was getting off the boat, Ruth was helping another lady by carrying her baby. When George saw this, he was shocked until he found out what was happening. He hadn't seen her in 2 years.
