Thank you for the newspaper link, I will look into that.

Peter's wife now found emigrating in 1913 along with 3 children (one of which Isabella mentioned in previous reply), also Peter's sister Margaret but no sign of Peter.

Anc does list the burial of a Peter Souter of Portabello age 64 on 1 Mar 1947 at Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand   Cemetery:    Andersons Bay
His spouses name is listed as Farquhar Soutler who died on 20 Mar 1950 age 72.  The burial also mentions a Bella Souter-  their only daughter age 19 - on 24 Aug 1928

Don't rely on Anc - it's a finding aid, but not a primary source.
