Daphne V Dunnell (Alcock) Found marriage but no birth!

Hi everyone,

I have been investigating the mystery of two wedding photos I have, where my grandmother is bridesmaid and she vaguely remembers an 'Auntie Daphne' from the Dunnell side of the family being one of the brides. Now I have found a Daphne V Dunnell marrying a Kenneth M Alcock in 1942 in Norwich - this date and place ties in with the age of my grandmother in the photo.

She isn't her father's sister from what I can tell but then any family member or friend could be known as Auntie!

I can't find Daphne's birth record anywhere! Help please? Born 1923 I believe.

Daphne Vivian Alcock born 26 June 1923 died 1997. Could she have been born abroad? or married previously? (the marriage certificate should give marital status, father's name, etc.)

That's the only information I can find, too. I was trying to avoid buying the marriage certificate in case it turns out she's nothing to do with my research, but I think that's the next option having not been able to find her Birth record anywhere... Thank you!

I have found Daphne V Dunnell's birth - in Verozepore India - British Military Births. Now to order her birth certificate (if that's possible) to find her parents.

Are you sure about the place? there's a Ferozepur in India but I haven't found Verozepore.

There's a transcription of her baptism (Duphne Vivian) on FindMypast at Kussowlie, Bengal Presidency ref N/1-470 folio 468

As it's 1923 it's too recent for an image and full transcription of the details but if you can get to the British Library at St Pancras you can b=view the ull image and details there.

Could be completely unrelated but there's also another Dunnell child in the baptisms, Dorothea Ethel born 27 Dec 1914 and a marriage of Frank Reginald Dunnell and Elsie Annie Pay 31 Oct 1913

Dorothea E Dunnell marries in Kent in 1938

Frank Reginald Dunnell was born in Kingston Surrey 1888 and is on the 1891 England census

I think that's how it was transcribed but I did Google and could only find Ferozepur too!

Oh bother, I was in London at the beginning of this week, I could have gone to St Pancras then! Thank you for finding the baptism for me!  I will look into the other information, too.
