Cora Evelyn Tuck death
« on: Thursday 01 January 15 21:52 GMT (UK) »
I am having a problem trying to find the death of Cora. She was born Cora Evelyn Roney 20 Sep 1891 Grenville Co Ontario and married Ernest Francis Tuck 9 Sep 1914. They show up in the 1921 census and voter registration has them farming at RR3 Merrickville in 1953. Ernest died 27 Jun 1954 and Cora continues to live at RR3 until 1965. She then disappears from that address. There is a Cora Tuck at the St Lawrence Lodge in Elizabethtown in 1974 but I do not know if she is mine.
Can anyone help?

Hello.

Do you know where Edward is buried? If so, have you contacted the cemetery to inquire if Cora is buried with him?

Edward is buried in the Oxford Mills Union cemetery which I believe is also known as the United and Presbyterian. Unfortunately this cemetery closed about 1970 so I would not think that Cora is buried there if she died after that date. I think that the cemetery records are in the hands of the Presbyterian Church.

Oh, too bad. With the (presumably) rather uncommon name of Cora Tuck, I suspect it is probably your Cora in the home in 1874. Elizabethtown seems to have a connection to Brockville. I wonder if a search there might turn up something?

Cora L.E. Tuck, nee Roney was reserved a spot beside her husband...I found the headstone here beside him but can't seem to read anything, so she may indeed not have had her death date carved out....If she was reserved a spot beside him ,would she not have been buried there? I suppose if she passed elsewhere & family didn't want to pay to have a distant grave...

This site has that she died c.1981 ...but the image is no clearer, even on a click to enlarge, so not sure where the date came from. http://canadianheadstones.com/on/view.php?id=589634

I contacted the person who posted the Canadian Headstone info and she said that people were continuing to be buried in United and Presbyterian Cemetery. Evidently she has transcription of burials to 1994 and that Cora is shown as being buried in 1981(no date)
