Martha Henry
« on: Wednesday 07 January 15 18:41 GMT (UK) »
I have a 3 x gt grandmother named Martha Henry who married Thomas Chilwell in St Dunstan's, Stepney, London, in 1801.
Whilst searching for something else I came across reference to these ancestors on My Heritage Family Tree website. This states that Martha Henry was born in quote"St Perre Port Guernsey"on 25 May 1766. How accurate this is I do not know. I suspect St Peter Port is what is meant. Would it be likely that she travelled to London in search of work? Thomas was a wine merchant so they could have met at the port.
Can anyone confirm that this Martha Henry did indeed come from Guernsey?
It would be interesting to have a Channel Island ancestor!
Thanks
Caroline

Do Martha and Thomas appear in any censuses?

Thank you both. Unfortunately they both died before any censuses.
