Hi all,
I had been looking for an Elizabeth Green who married Zach Whale in Assington in 1731 and believe I have found her bapt. Nayland, 1709 d/o Macklin & Martha. (on FindMyPast)
In looking for a Macklin Green marriage I have found him and a Martha Weston in a marriage Licence issued by the Faculty Office, London. (Found this source on And…y). No place listed but presume it to be in London.
Using F/S I have found 2 children baptised in Nayland, Suffolk (1701 & 1709) and some bapt. in East Lockinge, Berks.(1721 - 1725) as well as London (1701 & 1717.18)
Strange as it may be, I have found a certificate admitting a Mary Green, born Nayland, Suffolk, d/o of Macklin Green, Blacksmith in the City of London, into the Freedom of the City 1727.
Additionally have also found an indenture of Macklin Green being an apprentice blacksmith to his father, also Macklin Green in 1692, in London.
To complicate the issue, I have come across a similar named family of Macklin Green & wife Martha baptising 4 children in East Lockinge, Berks 1721 - 1725 although 2 died the last being 5-1726. But the interesting thing to note is Macklin was recorded as Mr.Macklin Green & wife Martha as if to signify he was “someone” in E/lockinge.
Could these all be the same family who baptised children in both Nayland, Suffolk 1701 & 1709 and in Lothbury & Whitechapel, London? and Berks. All the baptisms appear to fall logically;
Nayland, 1701, 1709
London; 1701, 1717, 1718,
E/Lockinge; 1721, 1722, 1723,1725 (burials 1721 & 1726)
I have even found a burial for a Macklin Green in Pershore, Worcs in 1748
Can anyone please help.
