Thanks Andy for looking, at least that rules that possibilty out. Where does one look for newsapaper entries for Ada Michigan 1892? Maybe his death was mentioed in the paper?

I don't see that there are any Ada area newspapers online for that time frame.  It looks like the local library has an option to ask librarians questions here - http://www.kdl.org/reference_resources - so it may be worth checking with them.  Sometimes, public libraries will check for obituaries.
