Hi, You may well have discovered this by now, but just wanted to let you know that a James Crompton of Barton on Irwell was one of the victims of the Peterloo massacre. I don’t know any more than that but it seems likely that he will be relevant to your research - but apologies if I have thrown you a red herring!

Thank you for your message.  I did know about this topic but as yet have not been able to determine if this James Crompton is in any way connected to my ancestors.  If there is any one who can help i'd be very appreciative.
