William Vincent WW1 Headstone, Buxton, Derbyshire
« on: Friday 23 January 15 19:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi Guys,
I am researching and compiling a book to remember those who served during the Great War from my home town, Cambusnethan, Wishaw, Scotland.  I am looking for a picture of William Vincent WW1 Headstone, he served with the Canadians and died on the 31st of July 1918 at Buxton Hospital (the Canadian Hospital 1917 - 1919) of appendicitis.  If anyone could help?

Thanks,

Swally

If you can find out where he was buried i could take a photo for you -- i live 6 miles from Buxton

There's several churchyards (and a cemetery tho i'm not sure when it opened) in Buxton
Wainwright - Yorkshire
Whitney - Herefordshire
Watson -  Northamptonshire
Trant - Yorkshire
Helps - all
Needham - Derbyshire
Waterhouse - Derbyshire
Northing - all

It's grave No. 3256 apparently.

I'll see if I can post an image of the graveyard plan tomorrow to help you locate it in the actual cemetery.

OK, hope this works.

I had occasion to contact them last year about someone in Grave 2776, which is why that number is highlighted on the plan.

Hope this helps
