Taylors in Wiltshire
« on: Sunday 25 January 15 15:06 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am researching the Taylors in Wiltshire - and I know very well that they are very numerous haha!

My Taylors seem to be focused around the Hilmarton, Calne, Tockenham and Lyneham areas.

I think I have correctly got my tree back to Joseph Taylor b. 1658 but I do not have a town or village for this birth - just 'Wiltshire'. I believe he was married to Mary Smith (another great surname to research haha!) and his son Joseph Taylor b. 1676 in Tockenham, Wiltshire is my direct ancestor.

I was wondering if anyone else was researching these Taylors and if we could possibly share any information? Has anyone any tips on getting any further back? I know that's probably a bit greedy and I do appreciate how far back I have got! It's just that nagging want to get further! ;)

Many thanks!
