Children of James Smith

My GG Grandfather James Smith m Ann Miles in 1878. According to the 1911 census they had 7 children. However I have only found 6:
Alice Ethel,John Miles,Albert Edward,Gertrude Annie,Bartholomew James and Frank, although can't find birth date for Frank, so wonder if not his first name?
Any help most welcome

When researching Smith's - you need to give a lot more info 

No birthyears or birthplaces shown for anybody

What about the 1881/1891/1901 entries - any gaps that could account for missing children?

Which registration district were they living in from the date of their marriage - have you checked for births/deaths on freebmd using that RD?

Freebmd has 29 Smith births in the Langport RD between 1879-1894.  Frank may possibly be Frederick Charles

Deducting the 6 you know about - that leaves you with 23 to look for deaths for on freebmd in the Langport RD between the various censuses.
