1911 census for Tournay Barracks North a Camp Farnborough
« on: Wednesday 04 February 15 01:08 GMT (UK) »
I have a marriage certificate for Bertie Onn  Putley 23 soldier and Hedwig Rosalia Seyfried 21 domestic servant in August 1912 and has Hedwig living at Tournay Barracks North Camp  field officers quarters c/o Major Burrows . She cannot be found in 1911 census and there is no indication anywhere as to where she was born ( presume Germany ) or arrived and was hoping someone may have a copy of the 1911 census for North Camp .her father was George Seyfried a deceased fisherman  .Her name may have been misspelt hence cannot be found in any indexes. They immigrated to NZ eventually.
Bertie was a private in Royal North Lancashire Regiment.
Why would Hedwig be in the c/o Major Burrows but also a domestic servant. No war yet for 2 years ??? Regards Virginia
