Joseph Creswell of Horsley Woodhouse

I have a marriage record from Phillimore's marriage register of Horsley of a Joseph Creswell, labourer and Mary Hawly both of Woodhouse married on 15 April 1771.

Can anyone supply further details of this couple eg date of birth, place of birth, parents etc?

I believe they are the parents of my ancestor Francis Cresswell born 1771 in Horsley Woodhouse.

Any information would be appreciated!

Have found baptisms of:
Hannah 1773
Joseph (twin) 1778
Mary (twin) 1778
All at Horsley, parents Joseph and Mary Creswell

I can confirm that FRANCIS CRESSWELL was in fact baptised at Horsley Woodhouse 16.03.1772..son of Joseph and Mary.

I just happen to have access to Horsley Woodhouse Parish records!!..so you can build your bricks on that one sound foundation.

Thanks for this information.   I had  Francis Cresswell's baptismal date but was delighted to have it confirmed by Derek who has access to the PR for Horsley Woodhouse.
I am still searching for more information on this family ie Joseph Cresswell and wife Mary Hawly - doing the usual thing in family history, pushing further back!

Thanks Derek - it's the Crawford Clan. Although, James my direct ancestor born 1836 seems to be born out of wedlock and I might not be a Crawford after all!
