That's great, Sinann.  Yes, Harriette Hoops was her daughter.
What would I do without you helpful people?  I just don't seem to have your knack of finding things.

Looks like Harriette married in Dublin.

if that is the correct marriage and you don't have it, it might be worth getting the cert to see her address and see who the witness' are. A research cert only costs €4.

She married at Trinity church on 9 Aug., according to an announcement in the Belfast News-Letter, or at St Thomas on the 11th, according to the Irish Church Records web site!
Possibly Trinity was a chapel of ease, or whatever it's called, in the parish of St Thomas, and the records were copied into the main parish register.

She gave her age as 25 in the 1881 census, but 20 years later in British Columbia claimed to have been b. on 26 Apr. 1862.  That's pretty good, to have aged by only 13 years in that time.
She d. in British Columbia in 1906 (and he in 1937, having remarried).  So no need to follow her up, thanks.

The interesting thing about that church record is her father is listed as Gentleman.
With that in mind he must have left a few bob when he died so I wonder if this could be him

3rd one down on the left.
it's not the same address as the marriage, but than bride and groom give the same address.

if it is him than son John is in London but you have John C and this guy is John Joseph so perhaps not the correct Thomas.
